π 2035 Dance Partners, Building a Better Bracket w/ EC Hood: Part 2 Feb 20th
We inch closer to conference championship play and take a note of some risers and fallers. Minnesota has won four in a row since the last update and jumps to a 2 seed. Arizona State is now a 4 seed thanks to a 6-game winning streak. Central Florida and Houston are making strong cases as 5 seeds out of the American Athletic Conference, which is sending five teams to the Dance in this update. The AI keeps steering Bryant to a remarkable season. The Bulldogs sit at 24-1 and an 8 seed in the East. We welcome Cincinnati, Colorado State and Nevada to the bracket. Florida State, Xavier, Saint Louis and Kentucky have dropped out and are headed in the wrong direction. Still lots of time left, so stay tuned!
Conference champion bids are determined by the team with the best in-conference record, and higher NET ranking if tied, at the time of the update.
The Rules:
- No two teams from the same conference will play each other before the Elite 8 unless impossible to avoid.
- No at-large teams will be seeded below the 12 line unless impossible to avoid. The play-in at-large teams will always be the last four at-large teams that made it.
- I will tend to give an edge to power conference teams in seeding. This is a personal preference that has more to do with thinking the NET rankings in the game overpower smaller schools and mid majors than anything else.
- This is not a prediction of what the actual bracket will end up being in the game. It is a prediction of what the bracket would be if this season occurred in real life right now and was picked by the NCAA committee.
- Iβm not quite the NCAA committee β Iβm not going to examine every injury to determine if a result was legit or not and I probably wonβt have time to drill down into every team sheet. In the end, this is just for fun.
