📄 NBGM Trade Deadline: Moving CBGM’ers (S30)

It’s the NBGM trade deadline. We are seeing every year more activity of the CBGM players. NBGM teams are looking to make moves to find pieces for their team. Move draft picks or get out of bad contracts.

Notable Trades

In terms of sheer size, this trade is very large on paper. The Mavs, who already have a deadly PG and hall of famer in Luka Doncic, are looking to add former Creighton PG Curtis Dawson to help their squad. When you throw in Hancock and Tubbs, it starts bringing in youth for the Mavs.

The Mavs have to let go of a traditional late first and an aging KAT to get it done. Seems like another win for Dallas, similar to their swaps for Donovan Mitchell in the past. We will see how losing some size will impact Dallas.

Another bonehead Raptors move to ship out their 1st round pick. They usually are worth A LOT because the Raps have been finishing so low. Alex Evans though is that nice Kansas product who can produce but he is competing at a position with Orville Swartz (UCLA).

What is more puzzling is that Wendell Carter Jr has been a productive player in the front court for years. Even makes the top 50 fantasy list, so unless it is a salary dump, the Raptors are way over paying here. Jarrett (Texas) is a former top 10 pick but not enough to tip the scales.

In a trade of classic CBGM names. Mary Linney (Maryland) , one of the all-time assist leaders is on the move to Denver to join a championship squad with Jo Jo Crowell (Syracuse).

In a move of some other solid contributors. The Knicks decide to part with an aging 33 year old in Sabonis to shave 3 years and add the productive ability of Jaren Jackson Jr.
